Our River Patrol provides a presence on the water as an extension of the parks. Volunteers help increase safety by having eyes on potential hazards, unsafe behaviors, and nuisance wildlife. We enhance visitor experience by providing helpful tips while out on the water, roving interpretation experiences, and friendly engagement.

Volunteers will need to be proficient in kayaking, pass a DEP Kayak Course, have a strong understanding of regulations on the water, posses a basic knowledge of wildlife or be able to learn, and have an ability to lead with education and kindness through good communication skills and empathy.
